Riddim Fernandez

Alec Fernandes aka Riddim Fernandez

Riddim was born in Barbados and heavily influenced by reggae, calypso and soca at an early age.  After moving Toronto  he was introduced to the world of hip-hop and the first concert he attended was Public Enemy's Fear of a Black Planet at the age of 14. 

Since 1999 when he purchased a drum machine and technics 1200, he has been creating and performing a mix of reggae and hip-hop, and later progressed into playing ragga jungle.  Now he plays a wide range from hip-hop to funk, all the while bringing in a laid back reggae vibe.  Expect fun remixes and music that has a futuristic dub feeling.
 
Riddim has held weekly gigs in Montreal, Toronto, Vancouver, and now in his hometown of Squampton.  He continues to play fun parties and outdoor events, some favourites being: Booyaka, Diversity, Entheos, and BassCoast.
